ExxonMobil Pipeline Company (EMPCo) is committed to conducting its business in a manner that is compatible with the balanced environmental and economic needs of the communities in which we operate.

It is also our commitment to comply with all applicable environmental laws and regulations and apply responsible standards where laws or regulations do not exist.  EMPCo is committed to continuous efforts to improve environmental performance throughout its activities.  We will encourage concern and respect for the environment, emphasize every employee's responsibility in environmental performance, and ensure appropriate operating practices and training.  

EMPCo will communicate with the public on environmental matters and share our experiences with others to facilitate improvements in industry performance.

In furtherance of this commitment, ExxonMobil Pipeline Company will:

• Work with government and industry groups to foster timely development of environmental laws.
• Manage our business and design, operate and maintain facilites with the goal of preventing incidents.
• Respond quickly and effectively to incidents resulting from our operations, while cooperating with industry organizations and authorized government agencies.
• Conduct and support research to improve understanding of the impact of our business on the environment.
• Improve methods of environmental protection and enhance our capability to make operations and products compatible with the environment.
• Undertake appropriate reviews and evaluations of our operations to measure progress and ensure compliance with our commitment.

A Systems Approach to Environmental Management

ExxonMobil Pipeline Company's Operations Integrity Management System
(OIMS)

ExxonMobil Pipeline Company is committed to conducting business in a manner that protects the safety and health of employees, others involved in its operations, customers, and the public.  Furthermore, EMPCo is committed to conduct business in a manner that is compatible with the balanced environmental and economic needs of the communities in which we operate.  This commitment requires compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, facilities that are designed and operated to high standards, and systematic identification and management of safety, health and environmental risks.

EMPCo has developed and implemented a comprehensive and structured framework to help manage SH&E risks.  We refer to this framework as the Operations Integrity Management System, or OIMS.  OIMS lists a set of elements that all must adhere to as part of "everyday" employee responsibilities.  Over the years OIMS has reached a high level of maturity with substantial results.
