ExxonMobil supports the 2025 STEM Energy Professional Development Program at SOWELA Technical Community College

In collaboration with ExxonMobil and the Allen Parish School Board, SOWELA Technical Community College received $100,000 from Future Use of Energy in Louisiana (FUEL) to support professional development training for rural Southwest Louisiana school districts and STEM programming.
This funding supported 36 southwest Louisiana educators during a week-long professional development program to explore the principles of project-based learning, design energy-related projects and develop lesson plans for their classrooms.
ExxonMobil supported this initiative by engaging with Rice University Tapia Center to lead the professional development camp and providing in-kind support, while the Allen Parish School Board secured superintendents’ participation, promoted the program and recruited the participating educators.
