ExxonMobil sponsors 2026 emergency responder trainings
ExxonMobil has sponsored several training opportunities for first responders throughout the region so far this year. More than 50 fire fighters have participated in these courses, experiencing hands-on field exercises and classroom instruction – all focusing on pipeline incident response and emergency readiness.
In Louisiana, ExxonMobil has collaborated with the Louisiana Fire and Emergency Training Academy (FETA) and River Parishes Community College to develop the Louisiana Pipeline Emergencies Training (LaPET). This course is designed to prepare fire fighters and provide resources related to CO2 pipeline emergency response.
In Texas, ExxonMobil has continued our collaboration with Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) to fund the HazMat Liquid & CO2 Pipeline and Industrial Fire Emergencies training. Taking place at the Brayton Fire Training Field in College Station, Texas, first responders from across the region experience advanced hands-on exercises, including a simulated CO2 pipeline release.
In Mississippi, ExxonMobil is sponsoring the Mississippi State Fire Academy’s CO2 Pipeline Emergency Response training. During the course, trainees learn about the properties of CO2 and how to handle a potential CO2 pipeline emergency safely and responsibly.
